In order to compile this list, Weather.com looked at all of the largest cities in the US and ranked them according to the lowest temperature recorded within their boundaries. This information was obtained from official weather data sources such as the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC).- Minneapolis, MN – -47 degrees Fahrenheit (-45 degrees Celsius)

There are a few factors that went into determining the rankings. First, we looked at the coldest temperature recorded in each city. Second, we considered how well the cities ranked based on their population size. Lastly, we factored in other factors like access to medical care, average earnings, and overall livability. To create our list of the beefiest cities in the US, we took into account both the coldest temperature records and population statistics. We looked at cities with a population over 250,000 and considered only those with a record low temperature of at least 25 degrees Fahrenheit. After ranking the cities according to their coldest temperatures, we found that Burlington, Vermont took the top spot. Burlington has been known for its frigid weather, and its record low temperature of -25 degrees Fahrenheit was set back in 1935. Next on our list is Anchorage, Alaska, which has an impressive record of 41 coldest temperatures ever recorded in one year.
